When Harry and Hermione are working together on a report for care of magical creatures, Harry stumbles on a startling fact...what would he and Hermione make of it?

Harry is walking to the library with Hermione. Earlier that morning she had asked him to come to the library so they can work on that report for Care of Magical Creatures. Ron declined saying he needed to practice keeping to stay on the team.

Hermione’s head leaned over to Harry's shoulder and her body seemed to edge closer as well. Pretending not to notice Harry just kept on walking to the entrance of the library where they greeted Madame Pince. They walked over to the shelves and started to randomly pull out books. They sat down on the ground searching through the indexes hoping for something that would help them. They both commented when they found something and put the book at their feet. After several hours the piles had grown to above their ankles.

"Hermione, remember when we rode Buckbeak to save Sirius?" Harry asked out of no where.

"Yeah and I also remember Draco almost getting him slaughtered. What made you think of that?" Hermione said, puzzled.

"Oh, just thinking that’s all…" Harry went back to his book as Hermione put hers back on the shelf. Harry finished reading the passage on hippogriffs. They still needed to find out what they represented.

He picked up the book beside him and looked at the moving hippogriffs on the cover. He switched to the passage on representation after he looked in the index. He started to read.

"Harry, have you found anything?” Hermione asked.

"No, at least not yet," he kept on reading. He got down to the last few sentences. He almost dropped the book when he read them.

"Hermione?" Harry almost shouted.

"What!?" she said looking at him, clearly startled. He couldn’t blame her. He almost got them kicked out of the library

"I found something. I’ll read it to you:

In Ancient Greece the witches, wizards, and muggles all believed that Hippogriffs represented and had special powers to control love. Couples went on a hippogriff ride together so they can be together forever if the hippogriff thought so. This is because of a well known fact anyone who has rode on a hippogriff with a person they love or didn’t know they love shall be together forever by a magical bond made as soon as the hippogriff takes flight. This only happens if the hippogriffs sees it likely. One of the signs is reading each others mind. This is the only accurate sign." Harry finished.

Hermione stayed silent for a second. They looked at each other. They stood up looking into each other’s eyes. They leaned in closer and closer till their lips touched.

“Uhh Hermione?” Harry asked after they were scolded in the library.

“Your wondering why it says muggles knew of hippogriffs right? Well back then, muggles weren’t afraid of magic in fact it was used often to summon gods and goddesses,” Hermione said simply.

“You read my mind,” Harry said unimpressed. She has done it before it just never meant anything till now.

“I know. Come on we have an essay to write,” Hermione laughed as Harry groaned.

“I got to go…early quidditch practices…see you later on tonight,” Harry said running to the door.

“Harry we will write that essay…GET BACK HERE AND HELP ME PICK UP THIS MESS!” Hermione shouted at Harry. She smiled as Madame Pince called after him, telling him she’ll tell Professor McGonagall.
